#133 Down By the Bay (200 words)

Inspired by: Down By The Cove

Ein arrived at the designated meeting place on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. He looked around but seemed to be alone.

He heard footsteps behind him and jerked around. When he saw who approached, he was so relieved he almost fainted.

“Hello, Ein,” Reggie Seward said.

“Reggie! I didn’t know you were back in town!”

“I imagine you didn’t. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have robbed me blind now would you have?”

“I’d hardly say we robbed you blind. Maybe you got an eyelash in your eye.”

“Not like Jon Fall, huh?”

“You know about that?”

“I do, and I imagine you’re in quite a bit of danger should he ever find out who you are. The false mustache is a good start, but maybe you should grow a real one.”

“I can’t.”

“Then you’re going to need a better excuse where you got the money. I have a new company I’m starting up, and I think it will be lucrative. What do you say? Invest in me, and we can be proper businessmen.”

“Can I be a philanthropist?”

“When I’m done with you, you can be the goddamned president if you want.”

They shook on it and sealed the deal.
