Ein worked with Mr. Wizowski on the elevator that was stalling intermittently. The building’s front door opened, and Ein felt a blistering cold draft of air, and a shadow loomed over him.
Ein looked up to see the tallest man he’d ever seen standing behind him.
“Can I help you?” Ein asked.
The man didn’t say anything but held out a note. Ein apprehensively grabbed it. The man stood there as he read it.
“I know what you’ve done. I know who you are. You can meet me tomorrow night privately, or I’ll reveal you to the public. See you tomorrow, Mr. Quinn, or should I say, Mr. Quin?” Ein read the note aloud.
Satisfied, Ein got the message the messenger turned to leave.
“Wait, where am I meeting him?”
The messenger made a spin around gesture with his index finger as he pushed open the door. Ein flipped the letter over and found a map.
“What the hells going on here? Are you in trouble with those Raven folk?” Mr. Wizowski asked.
“No, I’m afraid it might be worse,” Ein said, putting the message in his back pocket. “Now, let’s finally fix this elevator before someone gets hurt.”
