#38 Brunswick Town (200 words)

Inspired by: Oxford Town

In Brunswick, Georgia, no one can believe the attention their town is receiving. In February, Ahmaud Arbory jogged through his neighborhood. The only problem with that apparently was that he was black.

While on his run, Ahmaud stopped and looked at a house under construction. He then continued his run through the neighborhood. Soon after, a father and son duo saw Ahmaud run by and believed him to be up to no good.

They quickly hopped into their truck and followed him through the city. They cut him off and issued him “simple commands.” Upset that he didn’t comply with their demands despite the fact he had no reason to do so, they shot him three times, murdering him.

They went home and lived their lives for over seventy days as if nothing ever happened. Once the video of their lynching leaked, the two men were arrested, and soon after, the man who filmed it was made a third arrest.

If seeing a black person live their life sets you off and you decided you need to commit murder. Please kill yourself and do us all a favor. The world will be better off without you.
